This project was a first for me. Most of my development work is in the Microsoft .NET stack, and I found a need with my current whole home audio amplifier. The Monoprice 6 Zone 6 Source whole home audio amps (and the Dayton Audio DAX66 which is the same thing re-branded) are one of the most popular amps on the market. They are popular for their ease of use, price, and elegant look which makes it appear to be much more expensive than it really is. The performance is also phenomenal.
There was just one problem. You can’t natively control these amplifiers from your Android phone. So I took it upon myself to create the very first Monoprice Whole Home Audio Control app for Android. I wrote the app in Xamarin.Android and published my first app to the Google Play Store. I learned a lot in this experience, and can now add Android app development to the check list.
